Citizenship Act: Hindu refugees from Bangladesh celebrate in Karnataka's Raichur

The Hindu refugees from Bangladesh played with colours in celebration of the Citizenship Amendment Act. These refugees are staying at 'Bangla camp' in Sindhanur taluk of Raichur district. The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 was passed in both the Houses of Parliament. President Ram Nath Kovind also gave his assent to the Bill on Dec 13. CAA seeks to give Indian citizenship to non-Muslim immigrants who faced persecution in three neighbouring countries.
