Uber Loses License in London
Over Unauthorized Drivers.
According to the city, illegitimate motorists
uploaded their photos to Uber driver's
accounts thousands of times.
They were then able to
portray themselves as drivers
to pick up users of the service.
Since these drivers got past Uber's computer system, Transport for London says their
rides were uninsured.
According to the government body, some of the perpetrators
didn't have a driver's license.
Regulators add that some drivers
who Uber had let go of were able to make
new accounts and continue picking up riders.
Uber, whose license was due to expire this week, says it
will appeal the decision.
According to the ride-sharing service, over 3.5 million
Londoners use Uber.
A report from NPR says that Uber can still operate in London
during its appeal
