According to ‘Vibe,’ Nicki Minaj
will be the recipient of the 2019
Game Changers Award at Billboard's 14th
annual Women in Music event. .
The award is reportedly in honor of Minaj’s impact
on the music industry as an influential female rapper. .
It is also in recognition of her success as one of
the first rappers to infuse pop and hip-hop while
performing headline shows around the world. .
Billboard’s Women in Music is an
annual opportunity for us to celebrate
influential women from across the industry
who are impacting both business and culture, Hannah Karp, Editorial Director
at ‘Billboard’, via ‘Vibe’.
Last year, Minaj became the first woman to appear
100 times on the ‘Billboard’ Hot 100 chart.
Hosted by singer Hayley Kiyoko, the 2019 Women
in Music event will premiere on Dec. 12 at 9 PM EST.
