Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh)/ Patna (Bihar): Soaring prices of vegetables across the nation are burning holes in household budgets. Prices have soared due to shortage of supply caused by heavy rains and floods.

Onions are being sold at Rs 80 per kilogram in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal and are expected to go as high as Rs 120 per kilogram, and the situation is more or less same in the national capital.

The situation is no different in Patna where onion prices have soared significantly following which many consumers have cut down their consumption. The government had earlier imposed a ban on the export of the onions to curb and bring down the prices in the domestic market.
