The azure waters and rocky outcrops of the Costa Smeralda provided a beautiful setting for the 30th Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, which took place from 1–7 September at Porto Cervo in Sardinia. The regatta, supported by Rolex as part of an enduring partnership with yachting stretching back more than 60 years, attracted a diverse fleet of technically advanced yachts. After a week of intense but friendly racing, the class winners included Dario Ferrari’s Cannonball (Mini Maxi Racer 1), Lord Irvine Laidlaw’s Highland Fling (Maxi Racer) and Terry Hui’s Lyra (Wally).
