How Ruby faced death for Erap

MANILA - Former Palace aide Ruby Tuason on Thursday said she was put in a tight spot and could have died when she stayed in Malacañang during the ouster of her boss, former President Joseph Estrada. Tuason, a former social secretary of Estrada, said she was in Malacañang when the latter stepped down from office in January 2001. "When [Erap] stepped down as president, I stayed in Malacañang until 630 in the morning. Malapit na yung mga nag ra-rally. I remember my mom kept calling me to get out of there before I die. She said: 'Pagnakagulo diyan, hindi kayo ise- save ng [Presidential Security Group]. Si Erap lang. Umalis ka na diyan.'" "It was really scary at that time. That is what I meant." Tuason has confirmed that she delivered pork barrel kickbacks to Senator Jinggoy Estrada first in his house in Greenhills and at least twice in his 6th floor office in the Senate. The younger Estrada has denied receiving the kickbacks. ANC, February 13, 2014
