Belgian shepherds help find bodies in Tacloban

MANILA, Philippines – Atop the piles of debris that still litter Tacloban, Belgian shepherds are hard at work. The dogs, who are trained in finding cadavers, were brought directly from the Netherlands for free by their volunteer owners to help the people of Tacloban. Before firemen approach a site, the dogs scour the area first. Markers indicate that there are bodies buried underneath. But as they only work for free, the volunteers could only stay until today, which is why Task Force Cadaver is appealing to the government to send more cadaver dogs to help in the retrieval operations. -- News Now, ANC, December 1, 2013.
