No taxes for 'Yolanda' victims?

MANILA - Sen. JV Ejercito is asking the Bureau of Internal Revenue to grant a 2-year moratorium on taxes in areas hit hard by super typhoon "Yolanda." Under Senate Resolution 370, the Bureau of Internal Revenue is urged to impose the tax freeze in Samar, Leyte, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, Palawan and other areas devastated by the typhoon to give survivors time to recover and rebuild their livelihoods. Disaster officials earlier said "Yolanda" has caused P13,182,975,034 worth of damage to infrastructure, and P11,356,276,373.26 worth of damage to agricultural products. ANC NEWS NOW, November 26, 2013
