Japanese low-cost carrier Peach Aviation is set to suspend routes connecting South Korea and Japan as rising tensions between the two countries lead to a lack of demand from South Korean tourists.
The budget arm of ANA Holdings says it's canceling its route from New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido to Incheon Airport from October 28th and flights between Osaka and Busan from January 7th next year.
The route connecting Naha in Okinawa and Incheon will be temporarily paused from January 28th to February 22nd.
The suspension will make Peach the first Japanese carrier to scale back services to South Korea.
Eight South Korean carriers have already announced reduced services to Japan.
