Indian monsoon floods claim more than 200 lives and force thousands to evacuate

Severe flooding battering India has claimed the lives of more than 200 people and forced thousands to evacuate to emergency camps.

Footage captured on August 11 shows residents walking and vehicles driving through a flooded road in Kushalnagar town in the southwestern Indian state of Karnataka, one of the worst affected areas.

Indian authorities have deployed the army to help with the search for survivors and relief operations.
