How many hours of sleep do we really need? Though research cannot pinpoint the exact amount of desirable sleep for each and every individual... For a healthier lifestyle, the National Sleep Foundation has recommended this sleep ranges for all the age categories: 1. Newborns (0-3 months) 2. Infants (4-11 months) 3. Toddlers (1-2 years) 4. Preschoolers (3-5) 5. School-age children (6-13) 6. Teenagers (14-17) 7. Younger adults (18-25) 8. Adults (26-64) 9. Older adults (65+) As such, on an average, a human being should at least get 8 hours of sleep. However, for every group, and, in fact, for every individual, the amount of sleep differs. It's up to you to determine how many hours of sleep you need to be in best shape! Also, don't forget that quality is more important than quantity.
