Hong Kong’s iconic Excelsior hotel closes for redevelopment

The Excelsior, Hong Kong's iconic waterfront hotel built on the very first plot of land sold during the British colonial era, has closed after 46 years. Its owner, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, will tear down the four-star hotel and build a commercial office tower on the site. (Photo: SCMP’s Dickson Lee)
