French compound past - Passe compose

To conjugate a verb in Passé composé you only need to know how to conjugate "être" and "avoir" (the auxiliary verbs) then you add the past participle of the content verb. Sinece "être" (to be) and "avoir" (to have) are the most used verbs in French, the passé composé is the easiest tense to learn. CAUTION: though it is built as the Enlgish present perfect is, their uses and their meanings are not exactly the same.
