South Korea's Minister of Economy and Finance, Hong Nam-ki, is pointing to some bright spots in the latest job numbers.
Speaking at an economy-related meeting Wednesday, he said it's meaningful that the lodging and food-related sectors saw a rise in new hires for the first time in 21 months.
The minister also said it's good news that the number of jobs added overall last month was back above 200-thousand for the first time in 13 months.
However, he added the government will continue to take steps to create jobs and help the labor market recover.
Hong also said the government will fast-track 13 private sector investment projects... worth a combined 11-billion U.S. dollars.
They were originally set to start in 2020, but they'll now start before the end of this year.
