S. Korea's kindergartens announce indefinite postponement of spring semester

South Korea's private kindergartens are on a collision course with the government as they go ahead with plans to postpone the start of the spring semester, protesting the government's move to introduce more regulations.
On Monday, Korea Kindergarten Association said its roughly 15-hundred member institutions will not be open on the first day of the spring semester.
The government claims the number is closer to six-hundred and said it will force the kindergartens to open, and if they don't open on Tuesday, it will press criminal charges.
The government will also direct parents to seek out local public kindergartens while the private ones are staging the protest.
