Esta ruta formaba parte de la antigua vía de acceso a Granada. Es un sendero cómodo y fácil que pasa junto a varias posadas donde los viajeros se detenían a pasar la noche, tomar una comida caliente o simplemente hacer un descanso. Las vistas de la Sierra Almijara son excelentes a lo largo del camino.
