Pathankot Attack: Lt Col Niranjan Kumar laid to rest today at his native Kerala village

Mortal remains of Lt Col E K Niranjan, who died in the Pathankot terror attack, will be laid to rest at Elambulassery, a village in Kerala on Tuesday. Niranjan, who was with NSG’s bomb detection squad, made the supreme sacrifice while defusing an explosive from a terrorist’s body at the IAF base at Pathankot on Sunday. His body was flown from Bangalore to this village in Palakkad on Monday evening. Thousands of people have been paying their last respects to the Lt Col since Monday evening at his uncle’s house and later at a local school ground. They filed past the body of the brave officer, raising slogans and paying floral tributes.
