Senior leaders of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) are meeting party president Ram Vilas Paswan in New Delhi on Tuesday. The meeting comes amidst reports that the party may ally with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the 2014 elections.

LJP leader and Paswan's son Chirag, however, denied the reports saying that a final decision on any alliance with the BJP will be taken by the party's parliamentary board.
"We are not in talks with the BJP. LJP leaders regularly meet but there is no formal meeting on our political strategy today," he said.

Chirag also said, "If Laluji wants to talk to Paswanji, he can," hinting that the doors of the LJP were still open to its old ally.
