India Debate: After this projected outcome has Modi settled the acceptability question?

There's a very compelling reason why the nation is tuned into this round of assembly polls.

In some ways the election that has taken place in the five states is the complete election. The result in Delhi is a test of anti-incumbency against the UPA. It's a dip stick test of the national mood.

The voter in the capital usually has a national perspective, not purely due to geographical circumstance. In Rajasthan the poll outcome will test whether voters are swayed by rights based entitlements that the UPA government is pinning its hopes on to defeat anti-incumbency.

In Madhya Pradesh it is a test of whether the BJP can be the party of governance the congress has by all accounts all but stopped being for some time now. Chhatisgarh is a test case for all the above and beyond that in one key respect: it's a test of the mood in rural India. An India where Rahul and Modi exist only in the background and the state is the only arbiter.

Last but not least is Mizoram where the UPA's principle precept will be tested: the idea of inclusive growth and how it contributes to state building. Over the next three hours our distinguished panel will review the exit poll data from each of these states to construct a broad national narrative for you.
