Uddhav Thakrey ulimatum to BJP for respectable post

Although Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said all is well between the Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena, the latter has made it clear that it hasn't taken a decision on joining government.

"The Shiv Sena is in no hurry to join the government. We have not yet decided whether we will join the government or we will sit in the opposition. All depends on whether we are given the right share," Sena President Uddhav Thackeray said on Sunday.
When Fadnavis visited the Balasaheb Thackeray memorial at Shivaji Park on Sasturday, he said the Shiv Sena would be joining his government. However, the Sena president made it clear that talks were still on with the BJP.

The two former allies are in talks after the BJP won 122 seats in elections to the 288-member assembly, falling short of a majority. The Shiv Sena got 63 seats. After Fadnavis was sworn in on Friday, Thackeray had a brief meeting with BJP President Amit Shah at a south Mumbai hotel, the first concrete dialogue between the two parties after the assembly elections.

Speaking at Kolhapur on Sunday, Uddhav said, "I am glad that talks with the BJP have resumed. They have publicly said that they want the Sena to be part of the new government. But what portfolios are going be offered to the Sena has not been made clear yet."

Uddhav refused to comment on whether the Sena had demanded the deputy chief minister's position. The BJP has to prove its majority in the assembly at a special session which will start on November 10.
