CNN-IBN, IBN7 fined for airing factually incorrect report - NewsX

In the season of reckless allegations, many of which are proving to be baseless, the media is finding itself trapped in reporting news. CNN-IBN and its sister concern IBN7 have found themselves in such a situation, with the News Broadcasting Standards Authority imposing a fine of 1 lakh on them for airing a factually incorrect" report about the the Haryana government flouting laws to allot land to the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust. The two channels have been asked to apologise for airing the "biased and tendentious report that was carried on August 1st and August 5th last year.
