Abhijit Mukherjee wins Jangipur LS seat - NewsX

President Pranab Mukherjee's son Abhijit Mukherjee has won the by-election in Jangipur as the Congress candidate. The seat which fell vacant after the election of Pranab Mukherjee as President, was being contested by 11 other candidates. 60 per cent polling was recorded in the by-election compared to 84.71 per cent registered in 2009. Pranab Mukherjee had won twice from Jangipur in 2004 and 2009.
