Kejriwal's 'bijli-paani' drive hits out at high power tariff - NewsX

Slamming the Delhi government and the power companies, Social activist-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal today alleged a dirty nexus between the two. Taking forward his 'bijli paani' satyagraha over the inflated power and water bills and hike in tariffs by the Delhi government, Arvind Kejriwal dared the Sheila Dikshit government to stop him from unlawfully restoring electricity in several localities across the national capital. Arvind Kejriwal's India Against Corruption called the dharna a 'civil disobedience' movement. People also burnt electricity bills in 114 municipal wards of the city in protest against against the inflated bills. Kejriwal claimed that MPs and former MPs owe huge amounts to power companies but their connections were not disconnected and only the poor citizen is terrorized.
