Amidst reports of his escalation, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave former cricketer Mohinder Amarnath a shocker by removing him as a national team selector on Thursday. Amaranth, who was being projected as the next chief selector as Krishnamachari Srikkanth's four-year term has come to an end, was sacked as selector only after one year of his stint. Former India and Punjab opener Vikram Rathore would replace Amarnath, who formed part of the India's World Cup winning squad in 1983.
