Congress attacks Narendra Modi over his anointment

Congress on Friday played down the anointment of Narendra Modi as BJP's prime ministerial nominee for 2014 Lok Sabha elections, terming it as the party's internal matter. Congress's response is seen as a deliberate attempt to avoid "Rahul vs Modi" contest in the coming general elections.
Congress expressed indifference to Modi's elevation, saying developments in any other party do not concern it. "How does it matters us. We simply cannot be bothered", Congress party spokesperson Renuka Chowdhury told reporters.
