Govt defends FDI in retail, not to bow to Mamata

The government has come out to defend foreign direct investment in the retail sector. Commerce Minister Anand Sharma says the government is not to bow to the Trinamool's opposition to clearing the move. The opposition including the BJP and Left parties have largely voice strong opposition to FDI in the retail sector. The question is will the Trinamool now take a stand on the issue or once again try to leverage the decision to try and get a hefty package for Bengal just like it tried to do after the last petrol price hike.
