India News: The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday sent Uttar Pradesh Principal Secretary (Home) R.M. Shrivastav into custody for three-and-a-half hours for not complying with its order to provide security to a former minister.
A single bench of the high court comprising of Mr. Justice Satish Chandra ordered the custody of the top official from 10.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. after he failed to give a satisfactory reply on why the state government had failed to give security to former Bahujan Samaj Party minister Ramvir Upadhaya.
