Parikrama or Pradakshina is a Sanskrit word which means moving around the sacred places or idol in Hindu, Jain or Buddhist background.

In Hinduism specifically, Pradakshina is an act of walking around in a 'circle' on the path surrounding it as a form of worship in ceremonies.

The Hindu devotees walk around many other sacred subjects like the Garbhagriha (innermost sanctum), sacred fire, rivers, trees, and plants.

It is stated in the Vedantic scriptures that while carrying out Pradakshina one has to go to the left side to keep the sacred figures on the right side.

It is believed that going clockwise around a blessed space is a simple way of receiving maximum energies through this circular current that flows in the sanctum.

So this clearly explains, why we practice this as a ritual that too in a traditional clockwise manner. React to this video through, leaving a comment or sharing it with your friends.
