Agriculture ministry sends proposals to PMO seeking agri relief package

Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi announced a minimum income guarantee for the poor if voted to power. With the government working on an agri relief package of its own, many believe Gandhi's move was a pre-emptive strike. The buzz in the corridors of power is that the cabinet could clear agri relief measures soon. Government sources tell CNBC-TV18 that the agriculture ministry has sent several proposals to the Prime Minister's Office, reports Parikshit Luthra.
