Marcel Schmelzer donates his collection for our auction
Patrick Owomoyela: “You’ve brought something along for our charity campaign.”
Marcel Schmelzer: “Yes I have - I heard that you’ve planned something new, and this is from our special collection of t-shirts and so on that we brought out. I kept two of them, and of course one of them can go to your foundation.
Patrick Owomoyela: “There are pens around here somewhere, I think they’re next to you, and you can just…”
Marcel Schmelzer: “Which one should I use, this one?”
Patrick Owomoyela: “Yep… if you just sign it here, and you at home can go to our online shop and bid for these items. They’ll be auctioned to support out “Leuchte auf” foundation. You can get these tops there, so get bidding. What else are you supporting with this, Schmelle? I know you do a lot for good causes, so what will you be doing with the money raised?
Marcel Schmelzer: “Our idea originally was not simply to ask people for donations but to give them something in return, and that’s where the clothes came in. Some of the money goes to animal rescue projects - we’re helping stray dogs in Italy, and soon we’ll be doing it here in the Dortmund area as well, and some of it goes to the Dortmund food bank, where there’s a special breakfast project which supports a large number of children whose parents use the food bank or who find it difficult to provide enough food to eat. We’re drawing attention to helping and supporting others.
Patrick Owomoyela: “Great stuff. So get bidding, it’s all for a good cause, and you can even… can you still buy this one?”
Marcel Schmelzer: “Not this one, it was a limited edition for Christmas last year, but there are lots of others.”
