Kenya's efforts to tackle HIV-AIDS get accolades

Kenya has been commended for its work in the fight against HIV/AIDS, a virus that has infected over 1.4 million people in the country.
The commendation came from three visiting former heads of state who are Champions for an HIV Free Generation.
Retired president of Botswana Festus Mogae who is the chairman of the Champions for an HIV Free Generation called on the youths to also get engaged in programmes that aim to prevent further spread of the virus.
"We have visited other African countries on the same mission in the fight against HIV/AIDS and we want to endorse and commend the efforts of the government here. We want to highlight their achievements and therefore encourage them to persist and persevere in what they have been doing and the great success they have achieved in fighting the virus," he said.
The first president of Zambia Kenneth Kaunda said they would share with the world the best practices Kenya has adopted that could work elsewhere.
