Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Plaza de Mayo is the main square in downtown Buenos Aires & the focal point of political life. Avenida 9 de Julio is an avenue in Buenos Aires. Its name honors Argentina's Independence Day (July 9, 1816).
Esteban Echeverría (1805–1851) was an Argentine poet, writer and political activist. He was a member of the group who in 1838 organized the Asociación de Mayo ("May Association", after the May Revolution that initiated Argentina's move towards independence)
