Kane ring pyro fails

Kane's pyro is a dud.

On the November 28, 2005 edition of RAW, Kane & The Big Show were set to take on Gene Snitsky & Tyson Tomko in a tag team match in the semi-main event. Big Show came out first, followed by Kane. As most wrestling fans know, when Kane enters the ring, he uses his "powers" to summon a sudden burst of fire from each of the four corners of the ring.

There was just one problem on this particular night. When Kane called upon the demons of hell to engulf the turnbuckles in flames, they didn't pick up the phone.

Instead, Kane was left with his arms sticking down to his side like a goof, waiting for something that never happened. A smile cracked on his face as he realized the pyro wasn't going to go off. Big Show was clearly amused as well, as he appeared to say something to Kane.

At that point, Snitsky & Tomko entered and the match began. Kane & Big Show ended up winning, but they definitely had something to joke about with each other after their match was over.

Kane's entrance was not televised on live television. Rather, it was aired live on WWE.com via a service that they were running at the time called Unlimited, which showed bonus footage that didn't air on the main show. Even with the botch, WWE decided to leave the footage up for fans to watch and download in the days following the show.

What probably happened was there was a pyrotechnics glitch. WWE spends millions of dollars on its pyro to ensure that it functions correctly, but that wasn't enough money on this particular night, either that, or the technician was out getting a buzz instead of doing his job.
