Chris gets the shock of her life when she is called out on an emergency – former Cooper’s Crossing doctor Tom Callaghan is the patient. Both the town and Chris struggle to understand why Tom has not visited them since his return from Africa. Tom is forced to perform an emergency tracheotomy when a pilot is stung mid-flight by wasps. Chris must guide Tom back down to earth. Tom has an intimate talk with Chris and she begins to understand why he has been so detached.
