The U.S. government says it's continuing to work closely with the international community to pressure North Korea on its human rights violations issues.
Voice of America reported Thursday, in a reply to its question earlier in the week, the State Department said it's working to improve awareness on the regime's human rights issues and is cooperating with the UN and the international society to get independent information on the abuses.
The department also said it will continue to investigate those responsible, and hold them accountable.
A draft resolution on North Korea's human rights was approved last week by the UN's Human Rights Committee,... and is on its way to be put up for a vote at the General Assembly in December.
