China Calls For Constructive Efforts to Ease Korean Tensions

On Monday, China called for all countries to make constructive efforts to ease tension, after North Korea said the latest U.N. sanctions against it are an act of war. The U.N. Security Council unanimously imposed new sanctions on North Korea on Friday for its recent intercontinental ballistic missile test. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said the resolution appropriately strengthened the sanctions, but was not designed to affect ordinary people.
