A bunch of shearers arrive at Coopers Crossing after shearing Baxter’s sheep, and with them their cook Rosie. Nancy tries to convince Violet that Rosie could make a wonderful manager of her shop. A fire in Baxter’s woolshed leaves him and many of his sheep with injuries. Sgt Carruthers destroys the sheep but on the way back to town is accidentally shot. Doug Kennedy is the only suitable blood match but he has gone walkabout.
