Theresa May vows to fight for Brexit plan amid growing criticism

Following British Prime Minister Theresa May's announcement of an agreed draft Brexit deal, officials from her government resigned...and just a few hours ago, the UK PM gave a televised press conference.
For more on this and other news around the world we turn to our Kim Hyesung, who is sitting in for Ro Aram today…
So,... Hyesung, tell us about what Mrs. May, a leader under enormous pressure, had to say....

Yes Mark…Prime Minister May has vowed to fight on...for her Brexit deal, facing down a wave of resignations from members of her government and the possibility of a vote of no confidence in her leadership.
At a news conference at 10 Downing Street Thursday, May said she believed with "every fiber of her being" in the Brexit course, saying it was in the national interest...and made clear she had no intention of stepping side.
Her statement follows a string of resignations including the Brexit secretary....and talk of a no-confidence vote from conservative Tory MPs....in opposition to her draft Brexit agreement and details on the Irish border issue.
May's critics say the fix for the Irish border comes at a high price for the rest of the UK - which will be locked into EU trade rules for years.
It's been over three years since the Brexit referendum took place in 2016, but as you see, the ultimate outcome remains uncertain,...including May's deal winning approval, Britain leaving the EU bloc with no agreement, or even another referendum.
The British pound fell nearly 2 percent against the U.S. dollar...the main stock index in Ireland plunged nearly four percent....reflecting the ongoing political uncertainty.
