Relief pilot 'Fearless’ Frank Watson causes problems for the RFDS. Gibbo is excited about getting some long overdue vacation time but mechanical faults force him to remain in the Crossing. New pilot Frank falls ill during a mercy flight and Gibbo must relinquish his holiday hopes. With Nancy recovered from surgery, Sharon decides to return to her studies in Sydney. Vic and Nancy are reluctant to let her go again.
