President Moon Jae-in has chosen a new environment minister.
Seoul's presidential Blue House announced on Friday that Cho Myung-rae, current president of Korea Environment Institute -- the nation's leading think tank on environmental policies -- has been nominated to fill the position.
The Blue House said Cho is a long-time expert in the field who led civil movements on environmental justice and will look to resolve key environmental issues such as fine dust and concerns related to the four major rivers restoration project.
