Thousands of starlings flocking together before roosting were captured against the clear sky in Cumbria.
According to the filmer, the flock was spooked by a bird of prey known as sparrowhawks, causing the starlings to twist and turn in an effort to create confusion. The movement caused an amazing moving ripple to form in the sky.
