Nagpur’s Futala Lake highly polluted after Ganpati Visarjan

Devotees in Nagpur bid adieu to Lord Ganesha with great pomp and show and immersed idols of Ganesha in the Futala Lake, but its aftermath has left the lake dangerously polluted. The video shows how the accumulation of plastic waste has polluted the lake.

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with huge pomp in various parts of the country, especially in Maharashtra but the aftermath of the festival has been a cause for worry for several years. It amounts to pollution of both land and water that is caused both during and on the day, the festival ends.
