Daniel Woods has made the first ascent of what has been described as a "mega-project" on the Grandpa Peabody boulder in the Buttermilks, California. Details remain slightly thin on the ground as Daniel is yet to confirm a grade but those in the know are already suggesting 8C+, potentially making it one of hardest problems in the World.

After training hard over December, Daniel has been putting a lot of work into the problem, which, now he’s climbed it, he has named “The Process”. It climbs the existing 8B “Blood Meridian” and then adds a section of 8B+ and finishes with a sketchy looking 7C top out over 7 metres above the ground. Due to scorching temperatures, Daniel had to climb at night, so it looked pretty spectacular.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page and we’ll bring your more details as they come in.

Finally this week, we're taking a look at social media's reaction to the Dawn Wall with our tame social media researcher, Adam.
