In what may prove to be his first 9b ascent, Alex Megos has made the first repeat of Adam Ondra's route 'Thor's Hammer' in the now infamous Flatanger cave, Norway. The route is over 60 metres long and overhangs by 55 to 85 degrees for its entire length. Ondra has previously commented that the route may very possibly be 9b and is certainly 9a+. We'll have to wait for more ascents to confirm things either way. Given the difficulty of the route, what is most startling is that Alex managed to climb it on his third day of trying. While not as fast as some of his hardest ascents, given the route's length and potential difficulty, this is a truly impressive achievement. Also on today's show, we have news of a new EpicTV film festival which will celebrate the increasing role of drones in adventure filmmaking. We've had some great entries so far and we can't wait to see more from the climbing community! If you're an aspiring filmmaker, head on over to the festival page at EpicTV to find out more!
