2005.

Adapted from the classic M.R. James story for the BBC's "A Ghost Story For Christmas".

Historian Dr Fanshawe attends the house of Squire Richards, where he is to catalogue and value an archaeological collection for sale. Fanshawe borrows some binoculors from Squire Richards after finding his own broken. Whilst exploring the area he looks through the glasses towards an open field at Gallows Hill which was the sight of historic public executions . He spots an abbey which is invisible other than through the glasses.
Fanshawe investigates, but nightmares and events show that some stones are best left unturned.
