The investigation was initiated when the race stewards at Hockenheim summoned him over a possible rule-break of the FIA International Sporting Code. The rule break occurred while Hamilton was crossing the line between pit entry and the race track. The stewards are investigating whether he breached the FIA International Sporting Code by “crossing the line separating the pit entry and the track.
