Mount Shinmoedake, on the Japanese island of Kyushu, erupted on Friday morning, June 22, spewing rocks and smoke into the air.TBS television said rock was thrown as far as 3,600 feet (1,100m) from the mountain.The volcano, which was featured in a 1960s James Bond movie You Only Live Twice, previously erupted on May 14 and April 6 as well as in March of this year.
