The Rockford Fire Department rescued people from cars submerged in rising floodwater in Rockford, Illinois, on Monday, June 18.Several counties in northern Illinois, including Winnebago and Boone, were under flood warnings Monday after 3 to 5 inches of rain fell in less than four hours, according to local news reports.Several hospitals reported flooding, and the National Weather Service said the fire department made rescues from 15 vehicles.
