Trump Plans To Take 'Significant Action' In Trade Tariffs Against China

U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to direct a “pretty significant action” in trade tariffs against China, according to Reuters. The tariffs affect around $50 billion in Chinese goods. U.S. trade officials were meeting at the White House on Thursday afternoon to discuss the issue. Officials said Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has argued against the move. Since meeting with Kim Jong Un, Trump reportedly no longer thinks of China’s influence over North Korea as a compelling reason not to impose tariffs.
