Sequel to the 2015’s Jurassic World, the fallen kingdom has a box office of Rs.130 crores all over the world in one day. In India the movie got Rs.5.90 crores nett as box office.
At a glance, a 3x multiplier from a $140 million launch gets Fallen Kingdom to $420m, while a more frontloaded 2.54x (think The Mummy) still gets it to $354m, which is (again) about what we expected from the last movie. Worldwide is more complicated, as it’s possible that the movie could play like Fate of the Furious and drop by 36% in North America but just 13.5% overseas. That would be a $418m domestic, an $882m overseas total and a still-huge $1.3 billion global gross. But considering the movie only cost about 13.3% more than the first film, it can drop by a lot and still be a huge hit.
